Snow and the Seven?

I recently heard from a friend that there were going to be three, new Snow White movies released. This immediately reminded of our discussions about different books and movies keeping the same, original storyline, while adding their own, personal touches to it (like the Three Pigs book).

I definitely wanted to see what each of these new Snow White movies was going to be about and this is what I found:

1. Brother’s Grimm: Snow White

This movie is about a banished princess enlisting the help of seven rebels to help her win back her kingdom from the evil queen. Julia Roberts stars as the evil queen.

2. Snow White and the Huntsman

The information online says this movie seems to follow the more well-known version. Except for Snow White is banished from her home for being too beautiful, they focus on the huntsman more, and they added an evil White Wolf... so I don’t know how close this will be!

3. Snow and the Seven

For this movie, the producers placed the setting in China in the 1800s. The seven dwarves are now seven warriors, so this movie should definitely be different than what most of us remember!

  1. This is so interesting. I think that it is funny how a classic animated movie can be made into three completely different movies, yet share the exact same underlying meaning. I guess what I don't understand is how movies and stories such as these can all sell. I mean, think about it., it's the exact same story just using different characters, settings, and time periods.
Personally, I think that the movie Snow and the seven will be the biggest seller of the three. I think this because it takes place in the 1800's. Now days, most of the movies that are produced take place in society today. So by remaking the same story but adding twists such as these people will be drawn to watch it.
