On Saturday's while I am tailgating with my family, planes fly overhead. The planes are carrying signs behind them that advertise different companies. One Saturday, when we were looking up at the sky, we noticed that a sign that was being advertised so that everyone could see it, had a spelling error in it. Now, you know that the company saw this error and just did not want to pay the money to fix it. First off, how does this make the company look? And secondly, how can you let a sign fly around the entire East Lansing area with a spelling error?
I found this to be extremely embarrassing for the company. How can you not fix a mistake like this. Especially when there will be kids reading these messages that are flying over them multiple times throughout the day. My aunt, who is a professor at Northwestern University, asked up to take a picture of the sign because she uses examples like this in her classroom to show the kids that spelling mistakes happen everywhere, you just need to correct them when they show up. Kids will notice these mistakes and when they do you know that they are understanding that spelling/reading is a very important every day task and that you should always spell check your work before you turn it in.
