No matter where you are or what you are doing you will need to be able to read. Reading, writing, and spelling play a major factor in every one's life. I finally realized this when I started working. We have to fill out day sheets at work that tell the parents what their child did at day care that day. Now if you are the teacher and do not know how to spell, make a sentence, or read the things on the sheet that need to be filled out, how are the parents supposed to trust you with teaching their child?
Even when you are driving and reading signs on where to go. We will never be able to get away from reading. There are things in life that you can skip by on but reading is not one of them. Reading is everywhere and no matter how hard you try to escape it, you will not be able to. I believe that every one deserves the right to learn how to read since it does play a huge role in our lives. Also, some schools and parents need to start coming up with more creative ways to get children to learn how to read and enjoy it so they continue to read for "fun".
